Sacred Groups/ Retreats

All groups/retreats are conducted with the dignity and respect of each group member being the number one priority. Denise provides a positive, compassionate, supportive, and accepting environment for healing. You will learn how to improve your relationship with self and other by seeing both with new eyes.

The group process is an opportunity to expand your vision and awareness. Being together with others on a similar path will help you to connect at a deeper level and increase your sense of community and belonging, while focusing on your strengths and personal resources.

Inner Journey from Grief to Gratitude - 10 week healing circle (2 hour session once per week)

Dealing with a loss can feel all-consuming and isolating. Whether you are dealing with the death of a loved one (human or animal), the loss of a relationship, a serious illness, etc., grieving is a natural and necessary process that helps us to embrace change. Complex and multi-layered, it is easy to get stuck in the grieving process and find ourselves slowly sinking into a pit of depression, or perpetually living in fear or anger. Equally as destructive is trying to by-pass the process all together. Our fast-paced and demanding lifestyles are full of endless distractions that can tempt us to stay busy and numb to our feelings.

If you are a woman or man struggling with a loss, we invite you to join us for this 10 week compassionate, heart-centered, healing circle. Connecting and sharing with others helps us to feel less alone, and allows us to experience the profound healing effects of both, giving and receiving love and support.

Throughout the 10 weeks we will explore the (Kübler-Ross) 5 stages of grief and offer support and tools for change through meditation and breath work, creative and experiential exercises, and a healthy dose of horse medicine.

Why Horses?

As animals of prey, horses are masters at teaching us how to be present in this very moment. Often when we are in the throes of grief we are stuck in the past where we continue to endure suffering. When we can be fully present in each moment, our suffering ends.

Highly sensitive to emotional energies, horses can also help us to become aware of how we are truly feeling and to honour those feelings without judgement.

Horses are natural energy workers. Horses live by, and are a part of, the natural rhythms of the earth. In their presence we become grounded and our frenzied pace slows to allow us to come back into sync with the natural world. There, we can tap into that deeper part of ourselves where wisdom, meaning and messages of hope reside.

When we sit in sacred circle with other women we begin to remember the truth of who we are; vibrant, joyful, loving, nurturing, divine, feminine, human...Together we can re-kindle and honour our dreams, find refuge during tough times, re-discover how amazing we are, and begin to bring that aliveness to all of our relationships.

The Homecoming Circle will provide a place to:

Sacred Cancer Journey Circle – Cancer as a Catalyst for a New Life! - 8 week women's group (2 hour session once per week)

The cancer journey can feel lonely, scary, and bewildering at times. Life before cancer seems like a distant memory, and the future can seem uncertain. This is an invitation to join a compassionate, safe, and supportive group in which you will be offered opportunities to shift your perception, as you navigate the twists and turns post-cancer diagnosis. Learn how to come into the now moment as you let what no longer serves you fall away, in order to co-create a new story of who you are. No matter where you are on your cancer journey, you are welcome here.

The Sacred Cancer Journey Circle will provide a place to:

• • consciously connect and be in community with others on a similar journey;
• • take the steps to move from surviving to thriving;
• • excavate the gifts on the sacred journey you are travelling;
• • learn a holistic (body/mind/emotions/spirit) and balanced approach to self-discovery and self-care;
• • hear guest speakers and receive take home resources.

Women Healing with Horses - Weekend Retreat

Every life is a sacred path with value and purpose. We each possess gifts and talents that are a unique expression of who we are. Our soul's purpose is to re-discover, cultivate, and share those gifts and talents with the world around us.

Sometimes amidst the noise and chaos of everyday life, we temporarily lose our way. This weekend retreat offers women a safe and supportive environment to explore their internal compass. With the horse as guide, we will tap into a wellspring of inspiration and energy, followed by processes to assist you in recognizing and clearing any blocks or limitations, and connect you more deeply to your soul's purpose.

The new moon on the 27th will usher in a time of new beginnings and an opportunity to fully step onto your sacred path. Whenever we cultivate new beginnings in our life, a healthy dose of horse wisdom helps us to move beyond our limitations. Learn the subtle energetic language that connects us to the horses and to the world around us. Experience being part of the herd, setting boundaries, and creating conscious relationships. Find clarity and purpose through one-on-one time with your chosen horse guide.

This group will be co-facilitated with Krista Brown at Wisteria Acres Wellness and Retreats www.wisteriaacres.com. Krista unknowingly stepped on to her path at the age of 39, and through the gentle wisdom of the horse is living her soul's purpose as the Owner and Creative Director of Wisteria Acres Wellness & Retreats. As an Equine Guided Development Facilitator, Krista works with her herd of horses to guide people along their sacred path.

Denise will use guided experiential processes to help you deepen your experiences with the horses, find clarity around your soul's purpose, and transform all that is not in alignment with the highest and clearest expression of who you are. She will also be available throughout the weekend for short Reiki sessions.

There will be plenty of quiet time throughout the weekend to contemplate, to journal, and to rest. Wisteria Acres Wellness & Retreats offers a contemplative and natural setting ideal for exploring your inner landscape, sharing, and communing with nature.
